Who is Alpha Neuro-Monitoring?

ANM provides professional and affordable Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) to hospitals and physicians. The use of IONM can decrease the risk of complications by providing real time feedback of the central and peripheral nervous systems during surgery. Our team of highly trained and credentialed healthcare professionals utilize the latest technologies available to provide safe and reliable monitoring in the operating room.  The safety and value of IONM has been recognized by surgeons, hospital administrators, and insurance carriers. Our goal is to provide quality information to the surgical team so the patient receives the highest level of care.

What is Intraoperative Neuromonitoring?

Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) has become the gold standard of care during surgery where your nervous system is at risk.  By using electrophysiological recording techniques, we can continuously monitor the nervous system and detect changes in its functional status, thus allowing us to provide immediate guidance to the surgical team. This real time information allows the surgeon to make critical decisions that help identify and mitigate long-term post-operative neurologic injury.

How does IONM work?

Typically, IONM works through measuring and creating electrical impulses and determining their effect on the nervous system. To gather this information, electrodes are attached to multiple parts of the body, dependent on the surgical procedure, and the impulses are continually recorded through the procedure. Any deviations in the recordings are immediately alerted to the surgical team, and if necessary, appropriate interventions are initiated.
